Ferry to La Maddalena, on your own
Two ferry companies cross from Palau to the main island in 20 minutes, with frequent departures and cars aboard. Good for La Maddalena and Caprera; Budelli, Spargi and Santa Maria are only reached by excursion.
HARBOURS & FERRY →What hardly anyone explains: the archipelago is a national park and every trip charges a separate park fee, €5 per person from June to August and €2.50 in May and September (over-6s), cash only, on the day. And the famous Pink Beach on Budelli is protected: the boats sail past it, nobody lands. Fee and rules.
